Biography

Jerry Omole is a masterful smooth jazz/ gospel Saxophonist, composer, music instructor and trainer. He is one of Africa's leading international saxophonists and music educationalists.

From a tender age, Jerry had a penchant for learning musical instruments. As a versatile child, he played the recorder at 6, Harmonica at seven (7) and the Trumpet at nine (9). Even upon getting into the University at 19, his passion for music remained unfaltering. He became the University's Christian Union music director (1999-2002). Then he produced two (2) albums for the union with the titles "Alter of praise" and "Glory of the latter house."

Jerry eventually got the opportunity to learn to play the saxophone in 2022. With his unquenchable zeal for learning matched with his astuteness, Jerry became so versed in playing the saxophone with barely four months of learning. And in less than seven months of picking interest in the saxophone, he recorded his debut album, "Dancing Time ", which won him the AMEN Award. Indeed, as he would always say, he found a knack in the saxophone after his journey around some musical instruments.

So far, Jerry has recorded four different albums, namely: Dancing time, Endless Praise (2005), Real worship (2013) and Hymns and Seasons (2015). However, in November 2022, Jerry Omole, through God's divine help, took a quantum leap to record his new coming album in Nashville, Tennessee, U.S.A., with world-renowned American producers and musicians. The 12 tracks album project, recorded at Bunker Five studio, Nashville, TN, as produced by Jonathan Camey, is a unique body of work that the world eagerly anticipates. The tentative release date of this great "sound" is March 2023.

Jerry has shared a stage with great international/local artists such as Kirk Franklin, Alvin Slaughter, Ron Kenoly, Lionel Peterson(blessed memory), Israel Houghton, Marvin Sapp, Kirk Whallum, Panam Percy PAUL, Tim Godfrey, Nathaniel Bassey, Timi Dakolo, Yinka Davies, Lagbaja and lots more. Recently, Jerry was honoured to minister at the Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, alongside Grammy-winning Brazilian Talles Roberto. It was nothing short of a remarkable experience in God's presence.

Apart from being a well-known saxophonist, Jerry is also an accomplished saxophonist educator. Jerry is known for his ability to impact his knowledge on his protégé. He is the founder of Africa's largest saxophone community, SAXOPHONE HUB (an arm of Vitaledge Global Academy), based in Lagos, Nigeria, where he has trained and mentored over 1400 saxophonists (including youths and children as little as 5 years old) across the federation since inception in 2013.

In July 2022, Back Country Jazz U.S.A identified some young talents in Saxophone Hub and offered them free scholarships to attend their yearly music summer boot camp in Connecticut, U.S.A. This exposure has undoubtedly transformed the kids' lives and taken Saxophone Hub to another level.

Jerry is happily married to his QUEEN, and they are blessed with three wonderful sons, Jesse, David & Nathan.
